All About The Duck!

Today we went to feed the duckies and ducklings.. it was more of a welcome feast for the new family that has arrived. I really freaken love ducklings!

Anyways.. here is the first family...
and here are the new arrivals...
and who says that ducklings can't hold their own! Let the stare off begin...After all the excitement it is time for a rest under the comfort of mumma duck...and of course I must include Donald.. he is afterall, my favourite. Shh don't tell anyone.

All About The Anger!

You would think that my week couldn't get worse right.. you know computer issues are not fun but you know what is even worse.. when the overpriced greenhouse gets blown over from the wind.. right in front of a door that opens outwards! So that was the first hurdle to overcome.. and then the next hurdle was trying to get the balcony sorted in the still all powerful wind! I had to move things around the balcony with one hand.. while the other hand held onto the greenshouse so that it wouldn't go flying.. I learnt the hardway what happens if you let it go for just one second.. it flies at you.. crashes into you.. and hurts. Once I got it all sorted and the not destroyed plants back into the unit.. I headed for that trusty fishing line to tie the unit to the balcony until we can come up with a better solution.. but for now this works. When I was out there I noticed one of the plastic pot trays was missing.. I looked down and saw it on the other side of the road.. so off I went to collect it coz I am so cheap I would not have wanted to buy another! haha anyways... it stayed put in all the wind and everything.. right until the moment I bent down to pick it up and then it was like I was transformed into the main star of a silent movie. I am sure many people driving and walking past were having a good giggle at the start of me chasing a plastic freaken pot tray. In the end I won, got it and headed home. I was a sad angry Jo..

Anyways.. yesterday was a touch betterer and I got a few puzzled looks from people below as I cleaned up the balcony properly. With all the dirt out there I had no choice but to vacuum it up. Well first I swept it to a nice little mound, scooped up as much of it as I could before getting the vacuum out to get the rest.. coz really I didn't want that much dirt filling up the bag. If I didn't have another balcony directly below me I would have just swept it off the side.. but I do so I did the polite and right thing. Anyways.. people heard the vacuum.. looked up and saw me vacuuming a balcony and with that came some very puzzled looks.. it was kinda fun actually. Just as I finished up, we had a little sun shower so it made me very happy that I did decide to do it otherwise all that dirt would have been mud.. again.

In the evening we headed off to feed the ducks, ducklings & birdies.. it really does make one feel betterer. I just want to cuddle the ducklings! Watching them jump is so awesome! Watching them do anything is just so awesome.. why can't there be ducklings all year round?

Ho Hum I hope today is a better day.

Ducklings Make It All Ok!

The past few days have been poo. Pure poo. Thursday the computer blue screened.. once. Friday it did it again.. once. Saturday it decided once just wasn't enough and it did it repeatedly. Sunday was much of the same while trying to do countless scans and trying to out the actual problem. Monday we got some extra issues.. which made for a very unfun day.. but by bedtime we at least had the computer booting up and running again.

To top off the bad day.. I decided to watch the final of Lost. I want all my lost hours back from watching that show thinking that they would do something decent with the ending. Freaken copout. I want to bitchslap all involved. I went to bed very annoyed.

On a brighter note tho.. we have ducklings at the pond and I just love going there and watching them scoot around! Yesterday we even got to witness one chasing a little bird! It was ACE! They are so very cute I just want to snap them up and cuddle them. I <3 ducklings!

Another Week Ends!

Friday again. The weeks just seem to go by all too quickly these days.. I can't say I much like it.. but with every week down I am then a week closer to going to Boston and then the all awesome Eurotrip will soon be upon me.. hopefully I can just close my eyes and then when I open them again.. it will all be planned and sorted.. yup I love going on trips.. I just can't stand planning them.. luckily the actual planning stages are months and months away.. but we have managed to get into 'under a year to go' stage.. this time next year we will probably be in Paris.. enjoying a picnic with cheese & baguettes.. that excites me a little bit. Hopefully the weather will be awesome too.

Speaking of weather.. yesterday we got up to 27 degrees!! Nemo spent most of his afternoon on the balcony.. I spent a little time out there too but then in the evening it come a pouring down.. thunder & lightning.. it was all over with reasonably quickly however and then this morning.. grey but a nice temp.. I think summer is really trying to make its appearance. I again got to wear shorts yesterday and my sandals with no socks on! it was like heaven.. my legs are blinding white but I don't care.. I am just happy to be in shorts and I take comfort in knowing that there are people whiter than me.. I'm looking at you Georg! hahaha

And now I shall leave you looking at the very yummy Peaches & Cream Ice Cream that we made the other night but finally got around to eating some last night..

Good Weather.. Finally!

Yesterday for the first time this year.. I got to wear shorts! Outside that is. As the day started it wasn't looking pretty but as it progressed.. it started to form a rather nicer day. Em, Nems and I even got some balcony time in the early evening after taking Nemo for a walk.. and while we waited for the Peaches & Cream Ice Cream to finish churning.. which is by far the nommiest ice cream we have made so far. I think.. correction I KNOW I want to make Strawberries & Cream next! If only we could get the frozen yoghurt as good as the ice cream.. o well, win some, lose some.So anyways.. yesterday we got a little break from the bad weather.. (thank you weather gods) and that seems to have carried over some this morning too.. 5am and it was 13 degrees! Noice! According to the forecast we get a break from rain today too.. but tomorrow it will be back with a vengeance.. altho I do hope the forecast is as wrong as it usually is and this is the start of the much nicer weather. We will see.

This morning I ate the first cherry tomato that I plucked off the cherry tomato plant.. and it was quite nice. The 2 others that I plucked off, got cut into tiny wedges and mixed with avocado, salt & peppered and dumped in between 2 slices of bread.. or well a bread roll cut in half.. you know the drill. That is Emma's lunch.

Mays of Years Past!

Now we come to this years May and it is pure poo!
I mean seriously.. weather gods what do you have against me this year? Where is my sunshine and happiness? See all the blue skies and sunshine in the previous years.. I want my May to be more like those.. you hear me weather gods?

Emma has had the last 5 days off work and nothing fun could really be done as the weather has just been miserable.. we are supposed to be in better warmer times.. but someone has really pissed off those almighty weather gods and we are stuck with wind, rain, mist and cold.. altho the temp has come up some.. this week we are meant to get averages of late teens.. so I am guessing that means stroppy weather like a stroppy teen! I really want it to be summer already. Nemo does too.. he wants to go swimming!

Yep that's right.. I am so talented that I managed to punch myself in the nose when I sneezed. So hard in fact that it made it bleed. Right now.. I know you wish you were as talented as I! That is all.for the record.. I put a nice clean piece of loo paper up me nose holes so that it wouldn't be gross.

Bring on the Booze!

With the weekend came a new month.. and with the new month came some good times, let's hope that the good times keep on coming!Emma worked from home on Friday and was all finished up by 10am! Noice! We even managed to sit out on the balcony for a little bit.. not that it was the warmest, but it was sunny enough at least and also kinda nice to have some balcony time with the newly formed balcony.. makes me feel like it wasn't a total waste of mula lol However the birds are much more active around the balcony now.. and I am a little afraid I might have repeats of birds flying into the apartment and my head. Birds hate me. I don't much like them anymore.

Friday evening we headed off to watch Ironman 2 at the movies.. it was good enough, I wasn't expecting it to be grand so I wasn't disappointed. There were only a handful of people seeing the movie.. but we were lucky enough to have some idiots in that handful. The sound was a little loud too and by a little I mean alot! Seriously it felt like I was going deaf with each passing minute. Then the movie was over and it was time to head off to watch the fire & listen to some singing..

Saturday rolled around and it really seemed to drag.. so we went flower hunting, ok it was really a walk for Nemo but we took the camera along to take a few snaps. I found a giant stick but Emma wouldn't let me keep it. I could have made something choice out of it I reckon!

Once home in the comfort, we decided that we would drink the bottle of booze we got to try and it was quite good, so good in fact that I think I will actually have it again. We polished off the bottle pretty quick and also enjoyed a shot of Dooley's. Along with cheddar cheese and freshly baked bread rolls.. hot from the oven.. courtesy of Emma.. she really is getting the hang of this baking thing.. soon I will be out of a job! I must say tho.. we need more comfortable seats in the kitchen if we are gonna make a habit of that. & I would really like to start making a habit of that.. maybe not with the booze every time but sitting and eating and chatting in the kitchen.. we get some good sun in there.

The Good & Bad of IKEA!

Sunday we headed off to IKEA to spend the giftcards I got for xmas.

We went to the new IKEA in Malmö, which was rather large and quite frankly horrible. There seemed to be no real order and nothing to tell you that you have to walk around the first section first without a trolley before you can actually get a trolley.. so we had a bit of a rough start and it didn't put any of in the best of moods.. but things got better as we sat down to have a spot of coffee and some cakeage.. I also had some bread rolls, cheese and turkey which Em thought was ham.. can you tell she isn't a meat eater? Speaking of meat.. I got some reindeer salami to try.

The general feel of this new IKEA is not really the best, you kinda feel contstantly lost and thinking you have missed stuff.. mainly coz there doesn't seem to be much order in how they display things. Shit happens.. we made it out alive and with a good little bounty of stuff.. but I didn't get a new shower curtain, which is what I was really after and shelves for the kitchen coz well they didn't have the one we wanted.. typical! So we will just have to buy it online.. if they allow it that is... knowing our luck they wont. lol

The traffic going to and from IKEA was pretty horrid.. I swear all the nimrods were out and about.. and I have to say to the car with the license plate CYH 134 - you fail at life!
