More Macarons!

So as promised in my previous post (which has totally got me chuckling again over Nemo's face! He is just delicious sometimes!), I said that macaron foodporn was coming and so here we go!

Emma and I know how to splurge and when we do, we do it well! Life goes by far too swiftly to not take the time to splurge and live a little.. experiencing a little of the finer things in life makes it all worthwhile. Pierre Hermé macarons are definitely one of the finer things in life as well as worthwhile!

As you know from the previous post, if you read it that is.. we grabbed the new yoghurt flavours, as well as this months Jardin flavour and also.. a little pot of hazelnut spread. Which I will admit, I had no intention of trying coz well.. I am not a big hazelnut fan but I thought, what the heck! I'll put a little bit in my gob.. actually it was more.. Emma was moving the spoon at me and I thought the safest thing was to just try it! It was nice, I will give it that.. you can taste that it is made of quality ingredients but it is hazelnut and no matter how I try to swing it.. it is still just that. But, I tried it, knowing I wouldn't like it.. I still let it enter my mouth and I tasted it like I was a pro-taster! hahaha I will admit this tho, the tub it comes in is pretty neat even if it does look like it should contain some kind of make up! [tub photo]

Ok, let us move on to the foodporn!
First up.. we have the flavour of the month, The Jardin Potager!
It was like eating a very fresh garden! A delicious mouthful of freshness!
Really what would you expect from a flavour combination of apple, mint, cucumber and arugula! I know I will be looking forward to having this one again next year when we buy the whole 2013 Jardin series!

Now for some heavy duty macaron foodporn.. seeing a bunch together! Contain yourselves people!

To break them down, we have Velouté Ispahan!

This is the soapy one of the bunch! Yep, you just knew we couldn't get away without having at least one soapy little mouthful of goodness! It is not a horrible soapy, it never is. This still had the yoghurt tartness with the added soft soapiness of rose, a little litchi and then to bring it together some raspberry. I quite liked the bite that the raspberry gave. Bite in two ways, flavour and texture!

Next up we have Velouté Banane!
Yoghurt and banana is a combo that I have always been a fan of and this macaron delivers just that.. perhaps I will start having these for breakfast instead of actual bananas and yoghurt? Can someone say balloooooon!?

What's next you ask? Well.. it's Velouté Framboise!
A simple clean yoghurt and raspberry.. there isn't much more to say about it really. I perhaps even enjoyed the soapy one slightly more than this one... I know! Say whaaaaat?!

Last but definitely not least! Let me introduce you to Velouté Citron Vert!
This is a rather delicious one.. so delicious in fact that we held the macaron upside down to take the photo.. I am guessing out of pure excitement! This one reminded us of a lemon & lime ice cream that we make from time to time. Tart and sweet and quite frankly, deliciousness! At first we were like, does it remind us of the caipirinha?.. which in a way I think it still does.. but the ice cream doesn't have that boozey taste so I think it wins the flavour comparison! Altho, I wouldn't mind getting all three things together and having a taste off!

And there you have it! The macarons we enjoyed over the weekend.. we didn't eat them all ourselves, we shared with the parentals.. we are piggish, but not that piggish! We enjoy sharing with people we like and are umm... grateful!

You So Pretty, Nemo!

Finally we have some simply quite stunning weather! We seem to have skipped the most of spring and are hitting up a lovely summer! This week we are averaging the low 20's in the shade, according to our temp gage, it is like 35ish in the sun! I was clever and bought some more aerosol spray sunblock while we were in Americat! After all, I gotta keep my lovely new tattoo safe! errr and the rest of me I guess! Hahaha

Even when the skies are not blue, the weather is warm and quite lovely! We went for a bike ride a couple of weeks ago, out to some new rapeseed fields.. it was a brilliant sight! That bright yellow landscape really sums up what Skåne is at this time of year. However, as we were heading home the skies opened and we got drenched! The wind came also, I guess they thought it was some kind of party! So the whole ride home was like biking uphill! Talk about work out! It was a pretty awesome, and rather hilarious ride. Quite enjoyable in fact! We took some stunning pictures.

Last Sunday we went for another ride and came across some cows who were just darlings! I dunno, I love cows.. ok let's face it, I love animals. But I just wanted to hug this moomoo! [huggable cow] We didn't get rained on this time and it was a lovely ride in the countryside. It wasn't too hot or too cold, perfect for a ride really. Emma even made a buggy friend for the ride.. it wanted to take the seat tho! [buggy friend] Sadly there were no goosey moments for either of our rides.

It looks like we might even get some decent balcony time this year, and we have a lovely re-done balcony to enjoy too. We are growing rhubarb and strawberries, a few herbs and even some chocolate mint! Which when Emma made a tea of, it was like drinking a mint hot chocolate.. watered down of course.. so I guess you could say it is the healthy version of drinking a mint hot chocolate, right? Speaking of.. the most hilarious thing happened last weekend.. we were out shopping in Kristianstad, when we stumbled across this very awesome tin that had mint chocolates in it! We really wanted the tin so we bought it, even tho I am not a huge mint fan. Once we got home, we looked a little closer and it turns out we didn't buy mint chocolates but rather a mint chocolate powder for hot chocolates! bahahaha Yes, we are definitely that good! But you know what.. we really just wanted the tin.. I mean, look how awesome it is?!

Now let us move on to the hilarity that is Nemo! The little fella was sound asleep looking all cute and had his snout pushed into his paw so I took a photo..  this photo to be exact!
Then directly after I took the photo.. he woke up and this is what I was greeted with!
I could not do anything but laugh! And then laugh some more when I showed it to Emma when she awoke, she wasn't sleeping with her snout in her paw tho.. that would have been mighty impressive!

Today, some macarons from Paris shall be arriving, they had some new yoghurt ones that we wanted to try and seeing as they were only there for a few months, we thought.. Hey! What the heck, we should splurge a little and get some! And you know, so we did! Now we just have to wait for them to arrive with the rude courier. He is always rude, I actually dislike him so. Once, he even rang and asked me to go downstairs to pick up the goods.. seriously dude! You get paid to deliver so freaken deliver it! If the standard postie can walk up the stairs to deliver mail then so can you, buddy! He hasn't asked again since I told him no in not the nicest of voices. I can be stern when need be, I can make even the fakest of people cry! bahahaha
Also to make it a little worthwhile paying 31euros just for postage, we grabbed a 7 pack of this months Jardin collection.. as well as a rather fancy hazelnut spread! Yeah, we know how to splurge just right! Don't you think?

Stay tuned for some macaron foodporn in the coming days!
