Ms Zombie!
The last day of 2010 started off with a beautiful sky and pancakes.. made by yours truly! Emma makes far superior swedish pancakes and somehow it actually takes me longer.. usually it is the other way around.. I guess that's why I leave the pancake making to her.. we sure do make a good team.
Yesterday.. we headed off into Malmö so that Emma could buy new boots and a warm jacket.. who knew that it would be so hard to find a stylish warm jacket that wasn't shiny.. what is up with the shiny jackets anyways? I mean come on who wants to look like a shiny coloured marshmallow!? Not I.. or Emma.. luckily I don't require a new winter jacket.. maybe next year.
We were also going to catch a flick.. but we decided to go a few extra stops on the train and check out the new underground train system.. which turned out taking like 20mins so we opted out of the movie so that we would have more time to shop.. which turned into a bust also coz there was NOTHING decent to actually buy.. they didn't even have the boots that Emma knew she wanted.. typical really! We were also gonna eat out but nothing really jumped so instead of buying some overpriced real food, we headed to the american store and the english shop and bought some overpriced candy! Which sent my head into a buzz as we sat on the train on the way to Kristianstad.. which took.. 90ish minutes! So once again I gots me a free card to replace the free card I used.. I was however grateful that we were on the train waiting to leave, rather than outside in the freezing cold waiting for the train.
Kristianstad offered nothing in the buying stakes so we finally headed home to eat real food.. hot cheesy toasties! ooo yeah! In in all.. our Thursday out was a bit of a fail. I blame Hanky Hanna.. you see we were meant to go with her on the train, as she headed to the airport.. but for the first time since I have been in Sweden.. her parentals decided to drive her! It was also the first time I would go along for the ride too instead of it just being Emma Bo Bemma.. I smell something fishy here!
Speaking of fails.. I was a wonderful girlfriend and watched The Walking Dead with Emma.. even tho I am freaken terrified of zombies. After watching all 6 eps.. there were a few tense moments where I felt I was gonna puke, cry, scream.. I really don't like zombies.. but in saying that there really wasn't that much zombie 'action' as I thought there would be.. in a show that is what I thought was.. you know... about zombies. Emma said it had the feel of the last ep of Dollhouse.. I thought it was more like the UK show Survivors, just with zombies instead of a virus killing everyone. So I don't quite get the whole 'The Walking Dead is amazing' thing.
And on that note I'm off to enjoy my last day of 2010 with some bubbly booze, cheeses, meats, seafood, crackers, Jo-made-sour-dough bread, chocolate, apples, chips.. its an all day nibblefest of goodness! How jealous are you right now?

Miss Cutie!
Woah! Thank goodness Christmas is all over red rover!
I must admit I had a pretty good Christmas month with getting a little gifty every day.. sometimes I think I have the sweetest girlfriend alive.. and then she does something mean.. like.. well I can't quite think of anything mean right now.. prolly coz she has been extra sweet and helpful this month coz I'm all cripple like... I'm starting to feel much betterer thats for sure.. maybe by the new year I will be back to my old less crippled self.. until the next fall. Damn snow! Altho in saying that I actually got a white Christmas!! But yet again the snow wasn't good snowman snow so I missed out. Bah humbug.. can't win em all right?
Anyways to recap my advent gifties..
One - Two - Three - Four - Five - Six - Seven - Eight - Nine - Ten - Eleven - Twelve - Thirteen - Fourteen - Fifteen - Sixteen - Seventeen - Eighteen - Nineteen - Twenty - TwentyOne - TwentyTwo - TwentyThree - TwentyFour! With going through and doing all these I have just noticed that I named two days as 12 on twitter instead of 12 + 13.. Doh! O well.. at least I have them in the right order now.. and it ain't like anyone bloody noticed to start with lol
Christmas morning(which is on the 24th over this way).. started off with the birthday treats.. Emma got me some pretty awesome socks! I sure do love socks! Spunky socks.. not cheap uncomfy I want to kill my feet socks! HappySocks.com has some pretty awesome socks.. I'm usually a Smartwool girl but these puppies work too.. or well so far so good on the ones I have tried on that is lol
We got stuck into opening Christmas gifts from others.. and had what turned out to be the worst pancakes Emma has ever made.. not that they weren't eatable.. they just weren't up to her usual high pancake standard. Emma is by far a pretty awesome pancake machine!
The morning was getting on, so we got to a cleaning and then the old man from the first floor came over with some Swedish Christmas foodage and to sing me happy birthday.. it was all very sweet. He stayed for coffee and talked our ears off.. until it was time to brave the snow and head off to the parentals to officially start Christmas!
The walk was kinda nice out in the snow.. it really is all so pretty, just wish it was a touch safer lol
We arrived in good time.. ate a little.. drank a little.. gasbagged a little.. laughed a little.. rested a little.. and ate some more! I can't quite believe I didn't take a single pic of the Christmas spread.. how useless am I? Anyways it all went down with a treat!
The old family albums came out after dinner.. old photos really are the bestest! There was pictures of when Emma's dad was a baby! and wow did the kids look like him as a baby! There seemed to be many more photos of Emma's bro.. maybe coz he was such a smiley child? or maybe just coz he was the first.. either way I came to the conclusion that when he was little he wanted to be a ballerina! He did not agree.
There were some photo's of little Emma.. and here are a few of my faves.. I think she may have been a little fire cracker as a kidlet! Ain't she a little Miss Cutie?
Which also worries me for when/if Em and I have at least one little kidlet of our own.
Photos of photos look awesome right? lol
All in all it was a good day and I got a few pretty awesome things.. namely my new pillow! Heaven!! and loads of cash to go towards the big trip next year. Next year.. with any hope we wont be doing the gift giving for Christmas and just stick with being merry and enjoying ones company.. coz really that should be what Christmas is about when kidlets aren't involved.
Bring on New Year's! Where I shall eat cheese and drink bubbly!
Or well we shall more than just cheese.. but there shall be cheese!

Ms Twinkle!
It's been a pretty cold few days.. -20! geezlouise! It's warmed up some today.. -3.. so it was a bit of a heatwave! With the 'warmer' weather came snow.. and boy did it snow today! I don't think it took a break at all! Finally I'm gonna have the white Christmas I have always dreamed of.. so that's checked off the bucket list.. NEXT!
Today I finished up with the Christmas bakage with some gingerbread cupcakes + vanilla cream cheese frosting.. + of course sprinkles of the twinkly variety to give it that extra Christmas pizazz!
Tomorrow.. I shall not only tuck into getting Christmas over and done with but I will also tuck into getting another year older and of course wiser.. who know I could get wiser right? bahahahah
I'm also hoping to make a snowman tomorrow.. fingers crossed!

Mr Moustache!
Ahh the glorious weekend!
Ok it wasn't that glorious.. it was cold, snowy and I was slightly on the crippled side.. but I still managed to help Emma Bo Bemma whip up a citrus tiramisu and a batch of mandelmusslor!
O yeah.. I'm awesome alright! Only the gingerbread cupcakes to go!
Sunday Hanky Hanna and Billy Goat came over for dinner.. they just popped on over from Boston.. no drama! We served them a delish mustard chook, spuds and broccoli! Om Nom Nom! They enjoyed Nemo's company the most it seemed! All was good.. it was nice to have a catch up with them, and they came bearing gifts! Some gifts that we had bought ourselfs and others that they had bought for us.. I didn't quite remember what we had ordered.. but I got a few tops.. one being this moustached beauty..
and a whole bunch of undiepanties! These were me favouritestestest ones..
I even gots me a new little blue bag (which I know looks kinda purple but its the lens... I swear!).. I think it goes well with my awesome wallet! Now I just need to go out and about to wear it!
Emma also got some new stuffs.. of course! Oh and we got band-aids! Can't live without em!
Can you believe its the 20th already? My very awesome and special advent calendar is nearly over.. booooo! I want it to last all year round! I do feel kinda spoilt this year.. its kinda nice actually..

StoryTime!
Once upon a time in a cold land far.. far away, there was a happy little family who were lounging on their couch. Cuddling and all cosy, one could feel the love ooozing from their pores. As they lay, curled up under their blankets on the pulled out couch.. watching the television.. with no cares in the world. Life was grand and there were no bunnies.
Then THUD! just as Jemima moved! "What was that?!" she exclaimed.
"That's the sound of us needing a new couch" responded Humpty.
Big Ted yawned.
They all just went back to watching the television and all was right in the world...
Until....
Jemima wanted her phone.. "Where's my phone?" she asked.
Humpty shrugged, grabbed their own phone and made the call to track down the missing phone. The ringing in Humpty's phone began and the Terriers theme bellowed out from Jemima's phone.. Jemima moved around the room.. darting here, there and everywhere trying to locate the sound. "Where is it?! Where is it?!" she desperately cried! It was at the moment that it came to both Humpty and Jemima.. that the thud from earlier was the phone falling down the gap and under the couch. Jemima squished and stressed her hand between the hard frame and cushions, and eventually produced the phone and all was well.. while Humpty wondered why she just didn't lift up the pulled out bit and retrieve it that way. Humpty always knows best, but nobody ever believes.
Big Ted yawned.
With the phone safely back in Jemima's hands, she looked it over for any damage but there was none.. luckily. She then proceeded to put the phone down again and got ready to walk Big Ted.
The End.

Mr Sook!
Totally slack on the ole blogging stakes these days.. I blame Nemo. Why? Coz all he does is freaken cry! Ok.. actually all he does is freaken cry when Emma is around and sulk in his bed when she is not. Last night it got crazy bad.. he was on the couch.. right next to her.. and he just cried.. hard out.. for exactly what reason we don't know.
Ok.. it was maybe a little harsh to blame Nemo.. it really is that I have just been slack and can't find the right sentences to string together to make an entire blog that will take you in and hold you tight and warm you on these cold nights.. so on that note I shall leave you with some pics of our yummo treats we made on the weekend..
Chocolate Coated Marzipan & Nougat |
Milk Chocolate Coated Rice Puffs |
Fudge |
Fruit & Nut Dark Chocolates |
Knäck |
Peanut Butter Balls |
White Chocolate Lemon Truffles |
Still to make.. Dooleys chocolates, gingerbread cupcakes and mandelmusslor.. which way back in 2008 I said I would never make again.. however since then we have got molds that are freaken excellent and that makes making them wicked easy..
..silicon FTW!

Mrs Plow!
Still ain't no Homer.. but maybe that was picked up on with the Mrs part? perhaps? perhaps? perhaps!
On Sunday.. while around at the parentals, Emma was doing her daughterly duties and decided to clear off the walk way up to the front door for them.. it seemed like the right thing to do.. and here is the proof that Emma was doing some physical labour!
I know! It was kinda fun to stand at the window and watch her hard at work.. its rare but it does happen! She was doing such a good job too.. but just as fast as she was getting it done, it was filling up again.. the snow really was coming down.. but apparently not good enough snow to make a snowman.. I am starting to think that is Emma's standard line! Coz it seems the snow is never good enough for a snowman! I want a snowman dang nabbit!
When we went to leave a few hours later.. you couldn't even tell that it was ever done.. there was just a beautiful white blanket.. I really do love that fresh untouched snow. It's so darn pretty!

Mr Sno'balls!
Well look at that.. I hadn't even realised that I was yet to do a blog for December! Shame on me! I guess I get too tied up with Hipstamatic & Twitter, that I forget that I have to string more than a sentence together. Plus.. my life really isn't all that eventful..
So anyways.. I shall get started with my weekend, coz it is the most recent thing to have happened to little ole me.. and not to mention it is easiest to recall. Saturday morning we headed off to Kristianstad to do a spot of last minute shopping.. I know I can't really say last minute when Christmas is still like 2.5 weeks away.. which reminds me.. 2.5 weeks until my birthday! Keep the presents coming! haha ok back to reality.. the reality that was there is a place that does an even worse job of clearing the snow on footpaths than Hässleholm! Kristianstad.. took the prize for the worst kept sidewalks around! They were uneven and slippery as all shyte! I did however manage to stay on my feet coz I am pure awesome.. this week! But yes.. I couldn't believe it when we arrived.. it was like they were asking people to just fall over.. here have some invisible banana skins!
We managed to survive and made our rounds.. in the chaos I might add.. I never ever want to go shopping again in December.. people are so much worse. I really don't like dealing with people. We got a few things.. not everything that was required.. I did however manage to buy 9 glorious beers! C'mon.. who wouldn't want to try a beer with a snowman on it called Mr Sno'balls! I even managed to find an Australian beer.. Coopers, gotta be better than VB that's for sure!
Once home we chilled until it was time to kick our asses into gear and bake some lussekatter before calling it a night.. once again I tried them.. and once again I did not like them!
Up early.. we made the second batch of lussekatter.. and once again again I tried them.. and once again again I did not like them.
Then off we trotted to the parentals to drink glögg.. of course one of them was a saffron one and it was not to my liking.. which is understandable coz lussekatter = saffron and I didn't like them lol Anyways.. we drunk some good stuff too and ate loads of good stuff.. I really do like Christmas for the food at the very least! I even got some Julmust! Love the stuffs!
The walk to and from the parentals was quite the work out! Being a Sunday, it meant that the sidewalks didn't get cleared at all.. and there was a fair bit of snowfall so it was like walking in the snow back in the days of hiking.. I was worried that at any moment I might lose my footing and get eaten by the snow! Mind you.. I do think I look pretty in snow! hahaha and as you can see.. I finally got my winter jacket all sorted out!
It really was quite fun.. and Nemo ate as much fresh snow as he possibly could! Chomp Chomp Chomp!
During the evening walk.. right before bed.. I decided to cut across the church.. there was all this untouched snow just calling out for me to walk through it.. the urge was so great that I really could not just walk around.. and even Nemo wanted to walk through all that clean fresh snow.. of course it was coz he wanted to eat it.. but nearly as fast I got set into walking through.. I discovered that there was much more snow than I would have thought.. and my foot got lost as it sunk deep down.. it went slightly higher than my boots! Nemo got his bunny on and bounced his way across.. taking mouthfuls of snow here and there for the energy. Awesomesauce!
Oh and also.. Apple finally added more SMS tones with the newish software update.. so I picked something much betterer than Tri-Tone! I'm totally Noir-ing it up now!

Snow Corner!
Emma kept telling me off and telling me to be careful.. but you don't snow this fun all the time.. so you better make the most of it! It was great ball making snow.. so I made a few balls.. threw a few balls! It was heaps of fun!
Nemo really enjoyed eating the snow.. taking big bites out of it! He thought he was in heaven!
There was so much snow still flying around that you got a really awesome effect when you attempted to take a pic.. with the flash on! I mean how choice is this pic of Em and Nem's standing in front of one of the church christmas trees.. even tho Nemo totally has devil spawn eyes! LOVE IT!
Great end to a great weekend.. we should really have more great weekends!
Christmas Corner!
Sunday morning.. with it being the first of advent, we had the fun task of decorating for xmas so up went that little knick-knacks.. curtains.. lights... candles and of course angry santa! My favourite!
We pretty much took it easy for the day.. Emma pissed off to the parentals to help her mum with her christmas decorations and then the snow really started to come on down..
So for Nemo's evening walk we both went along and had a little play in the snow!
Next part continues at Snow Corner!
BUT!..
I felt this photo was too adorable to not post somewhere.. so yeah.. look at them eyes! That face! Nawwwwwww so cute!
Museum Corner!
So off we trekked to the Museum.. paid our dues and were let into enjoy the total deliciousness of a freshly baked wienerbröd! It was the first time I had had one of these magical things.. I usually don't much like the ones you get elsewhere.. but these were so frakking great! I enjoyed a second one on the way out too.. how could I not? You don't get to enjoy them every day and I'll prolly never have one again.. which thinking about that makes me kinda sad lol
We stood and watched them make them before getting in line to order one.. they had a sign up that you couldn't order more than 5 per person when we arrived.. and when we went to leave that went down to just 1 per person.. we weren't gone that long! I'm now getting a craving for another! Yum.. so yum! Look at these beauties!
With our warm pastry in hand.. we headed off into the Museum to check out all the cool old war time goodness!
Dude... you totally need a facelift! |
There's always room for a little love in war.. |
WALL·E's long lost cousin perhaps? |
Then we hit a massive line.. before being able to go into see the largest miniature display I have ever seen.. however I didn't even get to see it all coz
a) it wasn't actually finished and
b) people are pushy bastards who have no idea about personal space
Maybe we will have to go back and check it out when its all done and less packed.. I wonder if it will actually ever be less packed..
The plan was when we finished up at the museum we would catch some other little train thing back to town.. but having to wait 35mins in the snow seemed a little silly for a 5 min ride on the train.. no matter how choice it was.. so we opted to walk.. and off we toddled in the snow with the wind chilling us to the bone! I really do need to get my winter jacket sorted lol
We stumbled across Emma's parentals and they informed us that the other bakery had a different special treat for the 150yr celebration! Boy did we feel ripped off and apparently it was much nicer.. we tried to go and buy one on Sunday.. but they had sold out. BahHumBug! O well right?
Next part continues at Christmas Corner!
Train Corner!
Saturday morning we were up nice and early to head off to ride on a Steam Engine! Which like true public transport form.. it was late and then cancelled so we ended up going a different route.. it didn't really matter coz we weren't hopping off anywhere.. we were just enjoying the ride.. and it was quite enjoyable!
There was a man on there who had the best laugh ever.. he did this high pitched thing at the end.. it was pure awesome.. I wanted to record it but didn't think that would be a very polite thing to do lol
After an hour of sitting on the train..we finally got some movement.. and it was bouncy as. Emma said I looked like I was laughing with all my jiggling going on! I wanted her to try and record it.. but by the time she got organised I wasn't so jiggly lol It was lots of fun anyways.
We even had an old school conductor..
..who had been with the railway since 1952 (Emma correct in comments if I got the year wrong ok? lol) He was pretty funny.. I think he may have scarred one kid for life about going on trains tho lol and I especially liked it when he came in and rattled off some info, paused for a second and then went "Do you understand?" yes in English he did say it.. it was pretty ace anyways.. and random. I do like random.
After we finally got back to Hässleholm.. some 2 hours later than expected, we headed to the bakery to pick up the special bakery goody for the train celebration.. you see the train peeps were turning 150. So yeah.. any excuse to go to the bakery and I will take it! Even tho I make mighty fine baked goods.. I still enjoy the bakery.. anyways we picked up the.. turned out to be some type of cheesecake maybe? tropical in flavour.. it was actually very odd and I don't quite see how it ties in with the trains.. or winter for that matter.. or even Hässleholm! But we ate it and had coffee before heading off to the Military Museum!
Next part continues at Museum Corner!
