With the festive season upon us there was only one thing to do.. let it commence! So Em and I set forth and got our place suitably Christmassy. Not over the top, but just the right balance of Christmas and real world. This year however, we decided that we would add the addition of a gingerbread house. Which I have to say is quite the fiddly task.. made even more fiddly when you don't have the correct decorating tools. A cut plastic bag works well..ish but not perfect. Anyways, I think we did a pretty darn good attempt at a first gingerbread house with the inclusion of a cobble stone path AND a pretty fetching scarf wearing snowman! Don't ya think? [close up of snowman]
We have the majority of things from last year [photo], with a few changes and tweaks. Like the inclusion of a Christmas tree! With no Nemo to worry about trying to pee on it, we just have to worry about the collection of it at the end of the month, no biggy! I can handle it, after all.. I carried this tree [photo] ALL the way home from the plant store.. about 20ish minutes walk. Straight through the town centre with all gawking eyes upon me.. like they had never seen in their lives a person, let alone a female walking through town with a tree on their.. shoulder, head, back.. I shuffled it around a little, coz that's how I roll!
Em has made a few extra non-red decorations to go on the tree, to break all the Christmassy redness. The little crafter!
Oh and we also purchased a set of these [link] from etsy, hopefully they arrive before Christmas! If not, there is always next Christmas, coz you know.. Christmas comes every year without fail!

This is about as crafty as I get, adding 'lights' to the chalkboard in the hallway.. this year I did it a little differently, with the addition of a holly in the corner.
We were debating about adding a santa hat to the dalek, but that would mean that next year, I would have to do something entirely new on the board and to be honest, I really like the dalek and wibbly wobbly timey wimey.. even if they are coming on being up there for 2 years! Time sure flies! As you can also see in the photo above, we have a couple of advent calendars.. a Lego Star Wars one AND a scratchy one! It would be very nice to win the million(sek), very nice indeed! We also have a couple of Doctor Who chocolate advent calendars.. but we can't eat those until next week. Bad planning! But that is ok, I like playing catch up! OmNomNom!
We also got some new Christmas curtains for the kitchen, we had been meaning to for a while now but never found anything quite suitable, these ones are just the right amount of Swedish Christmasness!
Oh and.. We of course have Christmas loo paper, it just wouldn't be Christmas without it! You know I'm right!

Now the only things really left to do is the onslaught of Christmas baking and candy making.. but one can't do that too early! But we did buy a whole stack of cooking chocolate for the occasion! 2.5kg of dark, milk & white chocolate! That is.. 2.5kg of each! Woah, mumma! That's alotta chocolate! The baking part would have to be my favourite part of Christmas. All the smells and over indulgence of Christmas is a total winner. Baking off the gingerbread house transformed the entire place into Christmas, a part of me wants to bake some gingerbread everyday.. instead, maybe I will try and find a gingerbread candle.. or just burn any of our other delicious candles we currently have. This Christmas is going to rocketh, we even plan on hitting up some Christmas markets. Not Berlin madness of Christmas markets but markets all the same. Speaking of Berlin, we enjoyed it there so much last year, that next year for Easter.. we are heading back there for another look and to enjoy the awesomeness all over again, in a warmer climate! Happy days!
