Soccer Magic!

It was a soccer filled weekend! Actually I think I have watched so much soccer this week that I'm now an expert on the subject! That's right people.. I am now totally up there with the soccer greats of soccer talkers! Next I reckon I will be getting calls to come and be a commentator!

The USA vs Japan match was freaken intense.. I was going for USA and it saddens me when a match comes down to the penalty shoot-out.. it's kind of like a kick in the face for playing so well. But USA lost it on the shoot-out and it was a little sad but well done Japan all the same. Perhaps a little humbling for USA to lose?

Sweden won their bronze medal match.. which was pretty cool and it was played at a decent hour.. in the arvo! Where as the final was played late so I had yet another rather late night and early morning. I can't say I really remember the last time I went to bed early.. quite possibly well before EuroTrip2011.

I had an extra late night on Friday night, when I was waiting for Em to come home from her Take That concert.. I got to watch all kinds of total trash on TV.. they really save all the good stuff for the middle of the night! Maybe I would have been better off going to see Take That.

Umm.. what other weekend magic did we get up to? Oh thats right.. we went to the movies to check out Harry Potter.. in 3D too. & might I say.. 3D is completely pointless with that movie and having to sit there with the heavy ass 3D glasses was just plain annoying. I made it all the way through the movie.. it was entertaining enough but given that I am not really a HP fan, it didn't really do much for me. I am however, glad I saw it at the movies. Here's Em rocking out the 3D glasses.. she pulls them off right? [click me] We also had a really nice lady sitting next to us, who offered us a wet wipe to clean the glasses and even offered us some of her candy! How nice is that?! First time ever that has happened at a movie for me. It's nice to know that there are actually people out there who aren't just all "me me freaken me" and expect everything handed to them. It's really not hard to do a few little gestures and appreciate stuffs. 

For instance.. like how I made simple roast veg for dins and pannacotta for pudds last night and it had Em jumping over the moon with gratitude! I reckon I could of got a million bucks out of her.. had she had it of course lol We also checked out a new drink which we stumbled upon at the booze shop.. Fayrouz which was a sparkling malt soft drink.. this particular one had a lovely apple taste to it. Quite refreshing actually.. I would even buy it again... if we don't find new things to try that is!

Now for a little trivia! The word fayrouz means ‘turquoise’ in Arabic.
