Should have taken a photo!

Today I saw the weirdest combo of tattoo & position! I had to do a double take and then I just wanted to go up to the woman and ask..
"what the frick were you thinking?"

I also really wanted to take a pic of it.. but I don't think that would have gone down well.. at all!

ok so said tattoo was... jesus on the cross with a rose vine weaving around him. Everything was black and gray but the roses were red.
and said position was.. on the chest of a woman.. the bottom of the cross coming out from the cleavage area.. on a bigger lady.
I kinda wonder if she noticed how perplexed I was about her tattoo..
I am all for people getting what they want for a tattoo.. its their body but that does not stop me wondering what was going thru their minds when they got their tattoo.. I am sure people will think the same when I eventually get my left arm sleeve done.. what and when that will be is totally unknown.. maybe it will be my 30th birthday pressie coz that is fast.. approaching or maybe I should say looooming!

This weeks weather has just been wonderful.. I am really digging the wearing of shorts and being able to walk Nemo without having to rug up! Just wonderful! The temps have been just right.. not too cold and not too hot.. altho sometimes the chill in the wind is a bit uncool but still I'm not complaining.. I'm lovin it.. now if only I could bloody tan!!!

Yesterday we finally got around to beginning the brew of... vanilla extract! Not much to look at now but in 8 weeks time it will be a darker not much to look at! & ready to use! Score!

Granola!

Ahhh another weekend over way too soon! but at least I feel like we got something done this weekend.. which we totally did! On Saturday we went around to the parentals and painted the pool, made lemon meringue pie and sliders.. mini burgers! I even made the mini bread rolls which were so yum! it was all so very yum and so very perfect! My back handled it well too which was nice.. but my thigh.. not both.. just the one started to be really sore yesterday and its not much better today.. I tried to ride it out on the bike.. but I think it made it worse.. deep heat is my next plan of attack! lol

The weather was glorious all weekend.. or well all week too and this week is going to be just as nice.. mid 20's all the way.. summer here we come.. BBQ time! lol Its a short work week for Emma this week.. so long weekend here we come.. and we are going to attempt to hike.. and really break my damn boots in.. they are getting better tho.. I will take a spare pair of shoes just incase however.. don't wanna push it and plus Emma wants to try walking for a long period with a weighted backpack.. I don't need the practice.. and plus I still don't have a backpack!

Am I stressed about that?.. hell yes!

Emma and I made granola bars for the first time last night.. it was easier than I thought it would be and they tasted pretty good which is always a bonus.. Emma found them chewier than she thought that would be.. but I think thats coz we needed to toast the stuffs more.. we shall see on the next batch if my theory is correct.. just for the record.. I am usually correct.. watch out my head is acommin! hahaha I had one for an early breakfast coz I was way hungry and it was rather nice and hit the spot.. they will be good for when we are hiking indeed! Is it bad that I actually want another now that I am thinking about them? lol

Actually its proper breakfast time so I should run off and eat something..

Hot Pink!

My O My how the week flies on past when you are in pain and can barely focus! I have not been up to much for the past week and some.. mainly coz my eye and head have decided that it is time to play "I Survived a Japanese Game Show!" with me. As you can see.. by reading these words.. I survived!

Nemo got trimmed on the weekend so he is all skinny and short and looks extra cute with his backpack on.. I saw him standing there with Emma from across the road and boyo did he look a little awesome.. this week we have started adding weight into the backpack for him.. the training has really begun.. 1kg of water has been added and next week we will add another half kilo.. maybe.. afterall its only like 10 weeks until we take on the great outdoors.. which if I am to be honest.. stresses me a tad.. especially that we still don't have a tent sorted!

Anyways moving on to something a little more fun.. yesterday I relayed this story to Emma so I thought I would do you all the favour and share with you the total funnyness of it.. it was pretty awesome and made me remember why kids are awesome!
Nemo and I were walking down the street when we came across this girl who we usually see.. who makes me laugh a little each time I do see her and I can't help but wonder what her parentals think when they see her.. I guess they would be used to it. Well anyways.. this day she was wearing a black top, with a black tutu.. yes peoples you read correctly I actually wrote tutu! It was only just covering her ass.. but anyways moving ummm.. down.. she was wearing wearing hot pink tights.. to match her hot pink hair of course and I do mean hot pink.. eyesore! At the bottom of her tights she had on very fashionable highlighter yellow legwarmers.. yup.. so there she was in all her glory strutting it when she walked past this little kid and their mum and all the kid could do when he saw her was... laugh and it was a cracker of a laugh and just didn't stop.. the mum tried to shut the kid up but the kid kept looking back at the girl and would crack up all over again.. it was so ace to see. It really was one of those moments that I wished I had my phone with me.. ah well snot happens.

Easter!

Easter.. I'm glad its over! However I would like it to go on longer and longer so that Emma could still be home with Nemo and I.. as currently Nemo is sulking on the couch.. the traditional sulk pose of pushing his nose into the couch cushion.. but this time with his back to me.. I guess he once again blames me for Emma not being here.. you would think that he would click that I am not the bad guy one of these days and that Axis is the bad guy! Afterall they are the ones who takes Emma away from home everyday and they are the ones who sent her to San Fran for 9 days! not me!

It was nice to have Emma home for 5 days over Easter.. she took an extra day and worked from home a little which was nice and now my feet are fully recovered to try again to break in my boots. I missed out on going on the hike coz the blisters on my feet were bad and I had managed to hurt my neck and shoulder.. by sleeping on the floor! Actually it was ok when I first awoke.. a little sore but nothing I couldn't handle.. but then as the day went on it got more and more painful and then it got to the point where I look like a bit of a spakka and couldn't turn my head/move my neck.. Emma teased me a little.. thats ok tho.. her time will come! muahahahaha

But now the good times of Easter and Emma being home are over and its back to the normal grind of housework and... well I guess housework. My neck is feeling much betterer.. I do still feel a little twinge when I turn it tooo far but it pretty much ok and that is the main thing.

We got Nemo some inside tent socks and here he is wearing them.. he is more pissed off that Emma is taking a photo rather than wearing the socks.. he is a funny pup! Click here for the pic!

He gets to wear them once a week now coz we are having to put this really stinky balm on his paw pads.. to get them in the right condition for hiking.. it really is stinky and looks like poopie.. but these things need to be done.. just like the pain in breaking in boots.. just the thought of that really screws my face up.. I don't wanna wear them ever again! lol

Now I shall leave you with a little thing that Emma said the other day which was rather funny as we were talking about wanting puppies and babies.. bulldog puppies actually.. if only they weren't so expensive here! Now these may not be the exact words but it is the same context.. I can't quite remember but all in all it was just too funny not to share... "I want a puppy.. riding a baby"

Those 'Doh!' Moments

So there I was.. sitting at the computer calm as anything when all of a sudden I remembered that I had washing to do and the time booked for 7-10am.. it was not 7:38am! dang nabbit! So off I rush to get the washing started and get all the way down the stairs to realise that I have in fact left the washing detergent upstairs!! So I have to rush upstairs to get it! I am such a freaken doofus!

Good start to the new week huh? Well at least Emma is home now.. she arrived home yesterday late afternoon.. looking like she had spent the day choofing it up and hungry coz yet again they stuffed up her meal and gave her vegan food on the flight rather than vegetarian and vegan food is pretty crap.. personally I don't understand what the point of eating vegan is when most of the shit that they eat is so processed its not funny.. unless you are a raw vegan then thats kinda different maybe but yeah.. so anyways Emma was hungry and I didn't have foodage ready coz I had a bad day when it came to foodage.. you could say I had a doofus moment.. we were having chili.. which was easy enough coz I just had to defrost it.. but I had to make a bread to go with it and that is where the tricky part took hold.. my first bread was a flop due to the fact that I had forgotten to put oil in it.. it smelt so gross.. I didn't realise that oil made such a difference and the texture was oddly too.. so I binned it and got the ingredients together.. all the ingredients this time.. and went to put it on but the machine was too hot so I had to wait for it to cool down.. 4 hours went by and I finally remembered that I hadn't started the new bread off! so it was 2:30pm and I knew Emma would be home around 5-6 so I knew I wouldn't have time for it to cook and then cool off enough for me to be able to cut it without making a HUGE mess.. so I decided to do the dough option and then make bread rolls from it.. which didn't turn out to be so bad but Emma got home earlier than expected so she had to wait a little on dinner.. which was ok coz it gave us time to unpack..

Now for an Emma 'Doh!' moment.. which totally takes the cake.. it was pretty good I do have to say. So I asked Emma to get me some Reece's Peanut Butter Cups and also Mini ones.. along with a few other things but they aren't important to this 'Doh!' moment.. so we are unpacking and all the goodness gets clumped on the kitchen table and I start to put things away and I take a look at the two packs of Reece's to discover that Emma got 1 big bag of Mini PB Cups and 1 smaller bag of Mini PB Cups! I question Emma as to why she got 2 packs of Mini's and she was like "Noooooooooooooooooooooo" coz she had totally thought the bigger pack was normal PB Cups and then she went on to tell me the story of how she thought "Score!" when she saw the small pack of Mini PB Cups after grabbing the.. what she thought was normal sized PB Cups! hahahaha so funny.. they still taste good tho.. Yummo!

Now for a Nemo 'Doh!' moment.. he is forever walking into poles with his backpack on.. I am starting to wonder if he will ever get used to it.. this morning took the cake a little and it actually spun him around and then he just stood there staring at the pole which made me laugh.. hard.

Pissy Nemo

I have one terribly pissed off dog, last night he was put to sleep in his bed in the office.. due to his bad behaviour the night before with all his barking and so on.. while I was trying to sleep that I decided that he had done his dash and it was time for him to sleep alone again.. which made me feel a little bit bad coz it is just me and him here and he misses Emma so very much. I however had to be strong and I wanted a good nights sleep.. so he was pissed about that and did his little growl and even gave me a little bark to let me know just how pissed he was about it. Nothing new there.

Then this morning, I open the door and he doesn't come.. I move the barrier and he still doesn't stir.. I turn the light on and he turns his head away.. I am now thinking.. 'are you really a dog?' so I figure ok he will come out when he is ready.. I head over and start making up poop bags for the walk.. usually that will make him come but not this morning.. I finish making the poop bags and just wait.. 20mins later he appears from the room and goes over to the rug, lays down, looks at me and then.... just gets up and walks back into the other room... wtf Nemo?

So I figure he is mighty pissed at me but surely he should be over it.. but no.. I go and grab him and take him for his walk.. we come home and what is the first thing he does? If you guessed that he went straight back into his room as soon as I took off the leash then you would be correct.. and currently that is where he is. I went into the room to go and see if he loves me but currently he is not ready for JoLove! So I will leave him be and in due time he will come around.. I am so glad that it is only one more sleep until Emma gets home.. then I will finally have a happy dog again!

The last couple of days have been beautiful! Again today is looking like its gonna be a beauty.. the forecast for tomorrow however is cloudy.. typical! Emma comes home and the weather is poop! but then on Monday it is back to the nicer weather.. and then like true fashion when Nemo is booked in for a trim.. the weather forecast is for rain! It always rains when its Nemo trim time! It is a little on the very frustrating side..

Hello April!

What a great start to the new month.. weather wise that is! Yesterday it got as high as 17 degrees and today it is currently 13 degrees and its only lunch time.. noice! I was out walking a little earlier and I actually had cause to wear sunnies and no beanie! I even felt a little too hot in my jacket.. ace! Lets hope it stays on this nice path.. according to the weather application on the iPhone it is going to be a sun filled week.. fingers crossed that it is actually correct! I may even go out and enjoy an ice cream today.

I haven't really done much since the last post.. with it being just Nems and I nothing really exciting happens and well Nemo is a bit of a sad sack coz I think he thinks Emma is never coming home.. it will be a nice surprise when she walks through the door on Sunday evening or maybe I will take him to go meet her at the station.. we shall see. At least he will get a little bit more enjoyment when he gets to go along to work with her on Thursday as its a half day coz of Easter.. Mmmm easter goodness! We have a package arriving from our bunnie killing friend in Aus.. and in that package will be Cadbury Creme Eggs! Pure Goodness! April actually is shaping up to be a good month... apart from the fact that I already have horrible blisters and my boots are not even close to being broken in.. even wearing my normal shoes makes me wanna cry like a little sissy girlieboy! Time to break out the jandals! hahaha
