Did Someone Say Waffles?!

Another weekend happened upon us and we found ourselves with a very glorious one! Daylight savings began.. the weather was beautiful.. lots of sunshine which makes for a happy Jo!

On Saturday, Em and I found ourselves at the bike store buying a new bike so that we could go on daily bike rides and enjoy this nicer weather that has graced us. This is the bike [click for instagram photo] or [click for side view in all its glory!]

After the bike purchase we headed home to get started on the trimming of Nemo.. with the warmer weather it means that it is time to chop the locks! It looks like a skinny little bugger now.. but seems to have added some real spring in his step.. like it does every other time.. it always amuses me. I also love how when he is all trimmed that you can see his spots! He is a designer dog!
Look at Mr Adorbs!
Trimming takes ALL day.. then he gets a bath and some crayzeeness and then before we knew it.. it was time to head off to the movies to see The Hunger Games. It was a decent movie, above average I would say.. I found that there were a few yawn moments but all in all I didn't mind it. Now to read the books I guess.. I'll let Emma do it first and she can tell me if it is worthwhile lol

Sunday! Waffle day! Which meant that I was up and making a Jamie Oliver recipe of Grill-pan waffles + epic hot chocolate! I have waited to make this recipe since last year when I first came across it!
I was on the phone with Pinko while making it.. and she egged me to try and flip it rather than using something to do it.. so with a good toss! I flipped that heavy giant waffle and nearly got it done cleanly.. apart from one corner! Darn it! I was so close.. it looked pretty darn good anyways.. see look how big it is!

Then we chopped it up into slices so we could dip it into the thick hot chocolate that I had also made. Coz I am that awesome! Best housewife ever!! #amiright? [click for instagram pic of it sliced & served] We also gave it a little dousing in maple flavoured syrup!

After our big breakfast.. we headed off for a bike ride down by the lake! It was lovely.. its where we met some moo moos! [click Shadow - Lake - MooMoo for Emma's instagram photos]

It was a pretty fun ride.. once again I am just awesome on a bike! Never a dull moment when I have been let loose on 2 wheels! Oh you know you wanna experience the awesomeness of that!

Time flew by, it was Wii time with Pinko before doing a tidy up and getting the next meal of waffles ready.. this time the more Swedish type of waffle.. which is thinner and served with jam and cream.. for me I had boysenberry jam.. for Emma strawberry.. for the parentals.. they alternated between both. Luckily I have enough boysenberry jam that I didn't mind.. but a trip to Denmark will be in order over the summer break I dare say to pick up some more. Supplies are low. [click for instagram pic] YUMS!

A little while after dinner.. it was time to break out the wheels again and go for another spin! I'm loving the warmer weather and getting out and about.. now the question is.. do we or don't we buy a doggy trailer so that Nemo can come along on these rides? He might just be yappy yappy like he was when we rode on the old train tracks.. last May. If only I could find that video..

All in all I had a great weekend and I hope to have many more great days ahead with lovely weather and bike rides.. perhaps even picnics! Life is bright and really looking up.. Bring on the sunshine!

You Giggled Too!

Another week has just about passed.. time sure does fly right? Sadly there are no actual flights in my near future. I could do with some time away.. somewhere where the sun is shining and the weather is sweet.. yeah.. makes me want to move.. my dancing feet..
Ok ok.. so my feet do no dancing at the very best of times.. the most that they can muster is a walk.. and walk they did after a train ride into Malmö on Saturday for a little more roller derby fun!

We also checked out a few shops.. nothing serious, just a lookielu and then a little walk through the park and by the pond to enjoy the birds.. which is where I came across this swan.. just beautiful. The geese there, would come right up to you.. I felt terrible that I had nothing for them.

We arrived  nice and early.. got in.. got our seats. We discovered that pre-purchasing our tickets meant that we had to stand in a longer queue than if we had of just rocked up and purchased tickets when we arrived.. you win some you lose some.. end result was the same.. we got in and got seated.. after a quick detour to the loos. Em was stoked to get in there at the start before they would have got all dirtied up.. coz you know some people are disgusting toilet dwellers. I can't say this enough.. "if you sprinkle when you tinkle.. be a swee. tie and wipe the seatie"

Before we knew it.. the first bout had begun..
115 - 209
This is where we witnessed the pure strength of London.. those girls must work out with some quarter backs. They would just go for gold every single second they were out there rolling around. It was quite a lot rougher than the first couple of bouts we saw last time.. after a while we got used to the new style of play and before we knew it we were understanding more and more of what was going on. I also think that the beer helped.. nothing quite like drinking beer out of a plastic cup while watching sports.. #amiright?
This roller girl is Lola Vulkano.. and she was a pure power house in her own right. I would not like to go up against her that is for sure. She racked up many points for her team in both their bouts.

Next bout begun and it was quite the ass kicking..
274 - 46
The Slaughters Daughters seemed like quite a green team.. I am sure after a few more practice sessions and bouts they will start to really shine.. after all they already know how to dish out the hurt.. as you can see in this YouTube clip. CCR-B's lead jammer got a large serving on what was on offer. [click for clip]

The seats were rather hard on my tush and after many hours I was starting to wish I had of got the cushion at the store like Em had joked about doing.. but alas.. I just had to suffer through the pain for one more bout..
87 - 256
CCR-A came out in style.. which you can see here. There was so much smoke, perhaps too much smoke.. but it gave a good atmosphere at least.. [click for clip
This bout was awesome and also very painful to watch.. there was way too much of CCR-A's girls being sent off.. as fast as they were coming on.. they were being sent off.. which resulted in lots of the other teams jammer, just going around and around and around collecting points like they are going out of fashion. They apparently call this a power jam. You can witness said power jam in this clip [click for clip]
Another reason this bout was painful to watch coz my ass was slowly dying from the seats but the main reason really was the fact that there were so many time outs that it was dragging the bout on far longer than it really should have. For instance.. the last 30mins went on for over an hour. Annnnnd another painful reason.. I had a girl beside me who just couldn't keep her eyes off my tattoo.. I know it's like real awesome and all that but how much time do you really need to spend staring at it?

Finally with the last bout over with.. Em and I head off.. with of course doing a detour past the toilets to make sure we would make it home with clean pants. We learnt something rather interesting in doing this.. people who go to the roller derby are cleaner toilet dwellers than stuck up pretentious asses. Roller derby goers are definitely sweeties who wipe the seaties when they sprinkle while tinkling!

The following day consisted of us doing sweet fuck all.. my ass and lower back felt like I was someone who was actually roller around taking hits all night instead of just sitting on it. Nemo got to enjoy a bone.. the old boy needs some treats here and there right? Look how adorable he is!

Oh and I nearly forgot.. my inner childishness got the better of me and I couldn't help but giggle and snap a pic of this before heading into the derby...
You can admit it.. you giggled too.

With Sprinkles On Top!

This morning I wake up to this tweet..

So.. instead of getting the dreaded shell enema.. I have opted to break out the blogging skillz! You see I was already sore from the massive tricks session I had done yesterday while playing Rainbow Road. Both Pinko and I hate that track so we were doing tricks on the part where there are two big rings of death! I say that coz if you fall off you die... by die I mean you fall off into nowhere and then get saved by a massive crane arm that just appears and then drops you down to do it all over again! Anyways.. I had some fun playing around that area yesterday.. anyone would think that I was doing it in real life with how sore I woke up this morning. Directly after the trick session I could feel I had hurt my shoulder.. but this morning I felt like I had had someone doing a trick session on me. Not a nice feeling. at. all. Pinko wrote a lovely blog herself about it.. [click to see the greatness]

Last night Emma and I headed off to try and find the best vantage point to be able to see Venus and Jupiter sitting side by side.. the bright light of the planets combined! I am captain planet!.. oh sorry I got sidetracked.. the bright light that was the planets was pretty cool.. small but cool. We had to do a little waiting around for the planets to become visible.. and in the end we opted to go home coz it was just too cold and was taking too long. We managed to take a few snaps of the sunset and stuff while we waited but yeah.. once Nemo started to get upset coz he was cold.. I thought it was best to get the king home and off home we started to toddle when we looked up and actually saw the little dots in the sky! Typical right? Well it gets even more typical.. the best vantage point to see said planets.. was in fact.. our own freaken balcony. *nods* fail.

Emma took a funky photo on Instagram [click to see] & she also took this one with our little point and shoot. See the little dots? that's what we went looking for..

Today I did a spot of baking.. I made chocokin cupcakes. Even tho I am still in quite a bit of pain. But I am in fact.. tough.. much tougher than anyone thinks.. but I will say this.. holy crapola holding the bowl to dollop cake batter into cups hurt. like more than I imagined it would lol funny all the same and the end result is that I now am the proud owner of 28 cupcakes! To be divvied up among some very lucky peoples..
Here.. enjoy some food porn!

I also made coffee ice cream today.. Yes. I. Am. THAT. Awesome!
I totally should have donned my cape today! Coz I have been some kind of housewife superhero! Don't you just wish you had one of me?

Blind Eyes!

Emma and I were out walking to the supermarket early one Saturday morning.. chitter chattering away. The morning was beautiful.. crisp but very beautiful and as it turned out, the day was a stunning day. Brighter times really are ahead.. but anyways.. back to the story at hand! Em and I.. walking.. chatting.. when we stumble upon this whiteness against the semi frosty grassy area and Emma exclaims.. "is that snow?!"... This is what we saw...
Not quite snow.. we don't actually have any snow left in these parts.. which I am grateful for! The 'snow' like substance is just some messy persons mass of paper.. no not a giants left over loo paper.. but just some random paper that has come from somewhere and looks a little worse for wear.

We have a good giggle at Emma's bad eyesight and think paper was snow and continue walking.. also starting to chitter chattering away again when her eyesight take another jump into the wild abyss! This time she sees this brownish coloured flat piece of.. what she thought was bread.. once again she exclaimed upon seeing it.. "is that bread?!"... This is what we saw...
Not quite bread.. but a discarded short plank of wood like material. To Emma's defence.. we do infact have long slices of bread that do look kinda like that. We use said bread to make sandwich cake! I actually prefer to use the huge slices of bread to make sandwich cake.. but if we wanna make a smaller one.. then we use the long slices and it tastes just as good but just isn't as awesome.. ok getting off topic and starting to crave sandwich cake! Back to the task at hand! After a good giggle again we continue on our way to the supermarket to get the weeks worth of groceries.. such a joyous task.

We race though the store.. getting all that we need so that we can get home and get stuck into some banana throwing and shell enemas! The thought of doing said things.. just makes Emma jump for joy and tap her foots together in the air..
Like so..

This is just one of the reasons why I love Emma so.. she will stop while not only holding a bag of groceries.. but on the main road.. and do a little jump in the air.. so that I can get shots like this.. and keep doing it until I get the shot that I really like.. with the right lighting. The first time had bad lighting so I got her to walk a little more down the road to a better lit area. The things she does for me! Just wonderful! Another reason I love her so is coz she has bad eyesight.. it makes for great comic relief and stops her from seeing what I really look like..

Behind Closed Doors!

As it has been pointed out to me by several peoples.. I am a bad blogger. I do not blog nearly enough and now that my mateo Pinko has joined into the blogging.. I feel I must step it up a notch... a new month will hopefully mean I have more to blog about.. and given that the weather is just stunning today.. it might just mean that more stunning weather is on its way.. I mean look at what I got greeted with this morning from my kitchen window.. [click me for the sunning sunrise.. you know you wanna] now we wont go into how I had to try and balance the window on my head to be able to take such a crystal clear shot.. oh wait I just did. My windows need a clean.. a very good clean.. perhaps Emma Bo Bemma and I shall get our clean on this weekend and sort those pesky dirty windows out! After our fix of Mario Kart Wii with Pinko of course.

Ok.. now lets move on to me sharing with you a little funny that happened to me yesterday afternoon.. It had me nearly peeing my pants.. This story is all about 1 door.. 1 peep-hole.. 2 sides. This door..
There I was, laying on the couch.. minding my own business watching some trashy tv, when the doorbell rung. I looked at the time and thought.. Hmmm, this time last week it was the Jehovah ladies. I got up.. quietly so that they didn't hear I was inside.. and snuck over to the door.. as quiet as a mouse and peered through the peep-hole.. and yes I was right.. it was those ladies. And of course, coz of my quick thinking and remembering that just last week they would slot their stupid little pamphlet through the mail slot.. I carefully and quietly place my fingers like so...
...over the inside part of the slot and continued to peer through the peep-hole.
Things went so much better than I could ever have imagined.

There I was holding the the metal flap down and one of the ladies on the other side was attempting to shove their flimsy pamphlet through my slot.. she tried.. and and tried.. she was hovered over that slot and pushing with all her might to get that piece of paper in.. to no avail.. the ladies chattered in Swedish to one another.. I couldn't really make out what they were saying.. but I am sure it was along the lines of.. god give me the strength to win over this mail slot! This went on for a good 4ish minutes.. The longest 4ish minutes of my life. I was on the other side.. peering at them.. watching their little heads bob as they really felt like the pamphlet should go through! Pushing with all their godly might! They needed to get the word out! I could really feel the urge to pee coming on from holding in all the laughter.. and I wasn't again going to pee a little in my pants.. it's happened once alright. ONCE.

They admitted defeat and decided it was time to try the neighbours.. I kept watching.. I don't know why I decided to keep watching but I did.. and I am SO glad I did! They rung the bell of the neighbours.. there was no answer and then like clockwork they stuck their little pamphlet through the neighbours slot. God looked down on them and must have said.. if it worked here then it must work there and the next thing I know.. the pamphlet carrier looked at my door again.. then looked at her friend and uttered the words that nearly made me cry out in laughter.. "can you help me?" I'm on the other side going.. "really? REALLY?!" in my head of course.. so I once again place my hand down to hold the slot as the little biddies walk over to my door with shear determination to defeat this blasted mail slot! They WILL get the word out! This time they were really poking their fingers in.. trying to budge it.. I had to use both my hands to stop it from happening. After another few minutes of this.. they admitted defeat.. uttered a few words to one another and off they set down the stairs.. and then I saw the shadow of the pamphlet carrier.. stop. Was she going to try a sneak attack on my door? Perhaps she did think it.. but she didn't do it.. they sulked off down the stairs.. until next week when I will have to do it again.. coz let's face it! That was shit funny.. and you all know that you would of laughed your ass off so hard had you been here to witness such awesomeness! Nemo slept through the entire thing. It's moments like these that I wish I could have recorded it.. Em.. should we set up the network camera out in the stairwell? LOL

When I relayed this story to Emma Bo Bemma.. of course she gets the true awesomeness of some re-enactments.. she found it highly amusing.. I think she might have peed her pants a little.. but she will never admit it. Em told me I should have bellowed out some godly words.. perhaps next time I will.. and see what they do. Maybe next week they will come back with re-enforcements? Who knows! The options are endless! What I do know is.. I need to make sure I am well pottied before they come.. I don't want no accidents!
