Out of Sorts!

Today it appears I am a little out of sorts. In a space of just a few moments I grabbed the tissue paper that we use to wipe the little blackboard thinking it was the keys.. just as well I realised before I got out the door that I wasn't holding the keys in my hand.. coz otherwise that would have been yet another early morning call to the parentals for them to leave the spare key in the letterbox for me to go and pick up. Shocking I know! Tissues and keys look so similar yes?

Then.. we are on the other side of the door and I do have the keys.. I close the door and then right away stick the key in the lock and go to unlock the door again.. instead of using the other key to lock the deadlock! Emma then started to get worried that I might get a little lost on my morning walk with Nemo.. but here I am.. home safe and sound! I think I am just lucky that Nemo knows his routine walk! lol

Now I just read in the news that a woman who wants the Great Barrier Reef job, yes it is a dream job and you have to do whatever it takes.. but a tattoo? and a bad tattoo? seriously! so yeah anyways this australian woman went and got a very bad tattoo to try and get the job. It says "I (heart) islands of the Great Barrier Reef." Personally if I was going to get something inked on me to try and help me land a job.. I would make it something totally funky and something that people will look at and then maybe want to ask questions.. I do hope that it is a fake tattoo to be honest coz it really looked like a total piece of crapola. & it wasn't wrapped and there appeared to be no redness. from the little I saw of it.. try and see for yourself if you like.. news.com.au article or just the YouTube clip

So maybe I am not the only one out of sorts at the moment??

& again...

...atumblin atumblin atumblin down!
This morning I took my second fall of the year.. or well it was a full fall really as I managed to get my hand down on the ground to steady myself some.. to onlookers it would have looked like I was proposing to the invisible man or woman or even possibly a dog.. who knows.. just something invisible anyways.. it did hurt and jarred my back even more so that with every step after that it felt like I was being stabbed.. so Nems sadly got a short walk which suited me in the -11 temps!

Anyways moving along from falls to doughs.. coz really that is a very natural progression!! I have started the process of making a sourdough starter in the hope of keeping it alive for years to come! I can't even keep fish alove so I'm not how good I will be with this.. but its important to have the starter for sourdough bread and I want to make some sourdough bread bowls to house soup especially for Emma so no time like the present to get the process started.. and plus it turns out you can use it to make a whole range of yummo things!! Like Sourdough Blueberry Lemon Cake! DeeeeeeLish!

So anyways here is the birth of Tyke.. apparently you name these things coz they can live forever if you treat them right.. we will see I guess..
I must say he isn't too pretty yet...

Atumblin..

... atumblin atumblin down!
Yesterday I took my first fall of the year!
It hurt.
I now have an ugly looking knee which is hurts to bend and a sore back! (altho nothing new on the bank front)
Yippeeee *straightface*

I was a little nervous going out this morning but then I discovered that it had snowed so it was a little easier to walk on.. I tried to walk in places that people hadn't yet walked or hadn't been scraped yet.. coz that way I wouldn't slip.. instead it made it a little tricky to see what was road and what was footpath and just a couple of times I hit the road instead of the footpath and got a little shock.. but mainly Nemo gave me fair warning.. with him being out in front of me in all.. and might I add.. eating the damn snow! I wish I knew what he tastes when he eats snow.. and no not yellow snow.. he likes the fresh white stuff! However I'm sure given the chance he would actually eat just as much yellow snow!

Another thing I discovered while walking in the snow that my converse shoes don't make for good snow shoes.. by the time I got home.. my little toes were like ice! but I must say at least my feet were dry.. I think I need to invest in some new winter boots.. meh I don't much like shopping.. I never find what I actually want and I don't like spending money on something I'm not 100% about.. so annoying! Anyways I made it back home in one piece on both my morning walk AND my lunch walk.. which was totally ace.

Also this year, Emma and I have started the LCD.. I am only doing it so that its easier for Emma.. coz I'm nice like that but on a sad note there wont be any freshly baked goods.. or well maybe I will do some fresh baked breads here and there coz that is at least allowed.. or well some kinds of breads at least.. anyways we are 1 week in and 7 to go! I even have something planned for brunch on Sunday 1st March.. when we are off the diet! Strawberry & Creamcheese French Toast! How yummo does that sound? I can't wait.. something to look forward to thats for sure.. I might even bake the bread that I use to make it too.. just for that extra little rustic look!

Pompeii

3 days into 2009 and what is there to say other than it has been cold cold COLD! Minus temps ALL the way! but at least so far it hasn't rained.. the forecast said it would rain to day but I am hoping that once again they are wrong and it wont rain at all.. coz rain and minus temps equals.. total slipperyness! which is totally not cool for school!

All in all tho.. I really don't have anything to say about the start of 2009.. it started with alot of noise and fireworks.. I mainly stayed on the couch playing pyramids while Emma and Nemo had a nosy out the windows.. I just wanted to be sleeping.. I don't really get the whole ringing in the new year thing.. staying up late does not agree with me.. gawd I am an old fart!

Yesterday Emma & I went along to the Pompeii exhibition in Hässleholm. It was much smaller than what I thought it was going to be but all in all it was rather interesting and I saw some pretty cool stuffs.. they just don't make things like they used to thats for sure.

It was a bit of a shame that it was all in Swedish tho.. to be honest I thought it would of had English too considering its an exhibition.. but hey I was wrong.. and luckily I had Emma my trusty tour guide! So what I could not read myself.. I could just get her to translate for me.. which she basically did anyways coz I think she likes the role of tour guide.. maybe I should get her a little badge that states "Hi, I'm Emma and I will be your trusty tour guide today!"
