Sprucing!

Annnnnd once again I have been a slick slacky poo bum and  not done any blogging. No excuses.. just haven't. I'm not gonna lie and say I've been busy busy busy pretending to have a life. I just haven't blogged coz I haven't felt like sitting at the keyboard to tip tap away.. maybe coz I feel like I need a bigger screen so I can see more of my words as I type? I feel very snarky today.. people perplex me. Sometimes I feel like I am the only person who isn't fucking mental and living in their own dream world... and then I think.. well maybe I am in fact the mental one coz I am SO different to others. I guess it's just a bitchy world and maybe that is why right out of the blue yesterday morning I got a bleeding nose. I don't remember the last time I got a bleeding nose.. out of the blue that is.. the last time not out of the blue was when I whacked myself in the face. These things happen to the best of us.

Anyways.. onwards and upwards to a nicer topic.. something a little ramble worthy! On the weekend, Em and I finally got off our asses and got a few things up on the walls to spruce up the joint. We had purchased the stuff.. from a couple of weeks ago to a couple of months. How's that for lazy? Well part of it was that we had to get a couple of frames etc.. so yeah not totally lazy.. just need to gather the correct supplies.. then a couple weeks of lazy once we had said supplies.. again.. these things happen to the best of us!

We got our shelf up, now we can watch shows on the iPad while getting our cycle on.. hopefully that will make it easy for our lazy bums to make it to the seat! Only time will tell.. I guess.. but it is a good little set up if I do say so myself...

I am very happy with my New Zealand print and even happier with the kiwi bird decals on the wall! So damn cute! We also finally put up a cork board so that we could in fact use the moustache pins that Pinko got us. Now all we have to do is fill it with clutter! Which we should have completed by the time Pinko comes to stay at Christmas time. Tickets booked and paid for! Hopefully Pinko can handle being my friend for the next 7 (is it 7?) months! ooo well, no excuses.. just doing now! After all, like I just said..  it is booked and paid for! We will also be doing a short trip to Stockholm and Berlin in that time with Pinko.. and perhaps even a mystery trip to somewhere.. depending on time and weather conditions of course.. after all it will be winter. I wanted to go to the Ice Hotel.. but alas, that is a little too pricey for us humble slaves.

Speaking of trips.. I've been left in charge of organising a trip to London in July.. and after just one day of looking into stuff I wanted to die. Ok maybe not die.. but curl up in a little ball and sob! Now I know why I leave this stuff up to Em. It's horrible.. I hate having to sift through shit. I will get there in the end. I already have a kiwi store to visit to pick up some kiwi goodness.. thanks to the Kiwi-Londoner Kate, who is currently the handler of the @newzealand twitter handle. Em has of course found a place to have French macarons.. which actually deliver to Sweden.. so for a small price of 100euros.. we can have 24 macarons delivered to us. Crazy. She can wait until London and perhaps we can even dabble at making some again.

Back to the sprucing.. we also went to the plant shop and got ourselves some lovely plants for the balcony. Some flowers for on the rail..
.. and in the pots below we are gonna try our hand at cherry tomatoes.. 2 different types, mini cucumbers! Yes.. you read that right.. mini! cucumbers! Does it get more adorable? We also are going to have strawberries again, Em grabbed 4 different types (I think, I really wasn't paying attention) and lastly we are going to be growing wild strawberries.. for Em to nibble on here and there.. perhaps we will get enough to make an ice cream again!

OooooOOooooo yes! Ice cream.. we made quite a delicious rhubarb ice cream on the weekend! However it is now the last ice cream we can make until we buy a new machine, you see our ice block for the machine we currently have is.. broken. Simple as that. It is leaking it's poison so therefore that's all folks! Perhaps we will splurge a little and get a compressor ice cream machine.. I'm sure it wont take long for Em to figure what she wants and then buy it. It's for ice cream after all.. and ice cream is what runs through our veins!

And I nearly forgot.. we also cleaned off the fridge to make way for our new snazzy Doctor Who magnets!

I am well pleased with them.. well pleased indeed! Etsy really is awesome! This is the etsy store I got them from.. currently they don't have any but no doubt they will be back. I love etsy. Perhaps too much lol

Tropikariet!

On Thursday, Emma worked from home in the morning and then we headed off to check out some animals at the 'Tropikariet' in Helsingborg. The sun was shining and it was indeed a beautiful day.. we really couldn't pass up doing something with the day.. after all it was just before Easter so we may as well do something fun. We bundled ourselves up and headed off.. the first stop was to stop by maccas and pick up a McFlurry.. which was umm cold? lol It wasn't quite what I was after but it was enough to settle my craving.

After gobbling up the McFlurry, we headed into the place to get started on the cuteness.. and other stuffs. Right off the bat we we able to pat a croc! Yes that's right folks.. these wonderful hands of ours got their pet on and patted a 4yr old crocodile! And oh my it was adorable! I wanted to steal him away..
Look how cute he is! Don't you just want him too?

Then down we went to check out the sharks and stuff! I could sit down there for hours.. if not days just watching watching watching.. amazing creatures and every time I saw a Dory, I had Ellen DeGeneres in my head going Esc-a-pay! It was truly awesome.

We also came across this little fella and I wanted to keep him! Look at that face? more adorable than adorable itself! but alas.. I had to leave him behind.. but not before heading back to enjoy him some more at the end of the day. Here are a bunch of videos all rolled into one of sharks and stuff and of course my little fella too! [click for YouTube Under Water Action clip]

Next we headed into the Rain Forest! Where we got to witness all sorts of animals! Including ants carrying leaves! Now that is a pretty cool sight.. which we first witnessed at the start when we were paying to enter.. but anyways here is a clip.. [click for ANTS!]

We made our way through the bats area, which we have no videos of coz it was too dark and it would have been rude and cruel to use a flash.. that however didn't stop some people! I mean really? How hard is it to play by the rules and not harm the animals? Anyways the bats were flying pretty low at times and one was even hanging right above us.. after scaring me half to death by flying right past my head to get there. All in all tho.. freaken awesome!

We moved on and headed to another area that had more uncaged as well as caged animals.. it was a pretty good set up actually.. we had great timing too coz one of the keepers was walking around squirting a type of nectar into little holes for the little monkey makers to nibble on! I just love how close you could get to them! [click for Monkey Business clip] where you will even witness a couple of testy monkey words being spoken! As well as some cute monkey words!

It wasn't long before we found ourselves heading out by ferry to Madagascar.. and by out I mean up and by ferry I mean stairs! They were hungry and lazy little buggers.. there was one that looked particularly wasted and was good for a few laughs. We took a few photos.. and videos.. [click for lemur clip] and also [click for bird clip] Those beaks are awesome!

We headed back down to the sharks and my adorable little fella before heading back to the train station.. coming out of the animal place we were welcomed by the lovely smell of coffee beans being roasted.. so of course we had to stop by the Zoegas cafe to pick up a little coffee pick me up and chocolate coated coffee beans.. which I am yet to eat. Then we just had to stop by the bottle-o to see if they had the local beers that you can only buy there.. which they only had one of so we grabbed a couple others so it wouldn't be a complete waste.. and plus it looks a little silly if you just buy one bottle of beer.. right? This is my stash.. no no not 'stache.. but stash!

Turns out I have a HUGE stash of booze to get through.. our cupboard above the fridge is rather full.. not to mention the fridge too.. I best get a guzzling!

Also while out and about we stumbled across yet another set of naked statues.. they seem to love their naked statues in Sweden..

And because it is Easter.. they seem to love these coloured feathered tree things.. they are everywhere! Sometimes in just the form of a stick with a few feathers on them.. but 6 years on.. I still don't get the attraction to these things...

Next stop! Mamlö! The train ride felt long and horrible as per usual but once we arrived we headed straight for the falafel store and picked up a couple of rolls before making our way back to the station and stopping by Starbucks to pick up some coffee goodness for the train ride home! Starbucks has only recently opened in Malmö so it is a real treat.. and all I have to say to coffee snobs is.. go. fuck. yourself. If the majority of the world didn't like Starbucks then it wouldn't be in business.. all over the world!

With our falafel, fanta lemon, coffee and shortbread in tow.. we jumped on the train and headed to the comfort of home and a very happy Nemo greeting us.. ok so he was only really happy to see his beloved Emma.. but I was happy to be home and to kick back and relax a little.. plus I had the sneezles.. which I thought was possibly just allergies.. however it turned out to be more sinister than that as I have been sick for my Easter break. How pooey. I should be right as rain as soon as Emma goes back to work.. unless I manage to make her sick enough to stay home with me! Perhaps I should go and sneeze on her? Ewww!

Poo Stinky!

It's the Tuesday before Easter.. the time of eating way too much chocolate in the shapes of eggs and bunnies and even chickens that look like ducks.. actually I think that was maybe a mislabel? who knows.. it was giggle worthy anyways.

Last week the weather was stunning.. this week.. not. so. much.
It has it moments of beauty yes.. but the cold.. my gawd the cold has come back with a vengeance. In Lund, where Emma Bo Bemma works her magic to bring home the bacon.. which I am yet to receive.. well anyways it was snowing there. Yes folks. Snow. Real white powdery substance that has been gone from our lands for a while now. Uncool. The forecast is threatening more.. but we all know how right the forecasts are.. but in saying that and just because I have now said that.. it is prolly gonna bite me in the ass.

On the weekend.. we got whisked away to IKEA for a spot of shopping! You see I needed, most importantly.. a frame for my very awesome print that I purchased a while ago.. [click to see said awesome print]
We got a few bits and pieces.. light bulbs being one. You see we have had only one of the three bulbs working in the lounge so it makes for some very dull times.. I think we have had it that way for close to a year? Bulbs.. just one of those things you never change unless you really have to.. right? Well, we finally picked up some new bulbs.. Emma Bo Bemma installed them and then switched on the light and OMFG! it was way bright! Too bright in fact that I am unsure I ever want to turn it on again! I like my darkness. However in saying that I am looking forward to the light that comes with summertime here. Em has organised her time off to get several long weekends and then a 3 week stint over the summer to just relax and do stuff like.. bike riding and picnics! Real coupley stuff! Oh and we are also attending a wedding.. no no not our own.. altho maybe Hank & Billy-Goat might like a double wedding? Bahahahahahah jokes! Em doesn't want to share the Bemma! Plus.. Jo Bo Bemma has a strange ring to it right? LOL

Lately, I have been quite addicted to a little game called Draw Something! Which I play on the iPad.. which amuses me loads! I think I am more amused by what I draw than what other people are.. here is one that I am particularly proud of..
I was even more amused when I got to watch myself draw it after it was guessed! The watching part is quite priceless.. much like the recent one I did of Garfield.. my word was cattail so instead of doing the plant which is what I thought they were meaning.. I drew a creepy Garfield and then pointed at his tail! Bahahaha.. you're welcome Rhiannon! I am a pretty terrible drawer but I think that is what makes the game the most fun! Now I come to the unfun part.. the part where the app has now been purchased by Zynga. The people who clutter and ruin apps like it is going out of fashion. Poo. Stinky.
