Baaaannnnaaaannnnaaaaa!

After a long.. cold couple of months, I was finally looking forward to getting out of the house and going into Malmo.. for some foodage and a spot of shopping and with all the goodies Em has been getting lately I was really looking forward to buying something completely random for myself. 

However.

It turns out.. that there was nothing worth anything.. it all looked like the same shit from before christmas.. and if I didn't want to buy it then I sure as hell didn't want to buy it now. I got so cranky that I didn't even want to stay and have lunch in there at all.. and so we headed home early with a few goodies that we got from the Bottle-O, American Store & English Shop.

The day started of soooooo slow, I was going stir crazy waiting for the minutes to tick by before we could actually leave.. coz I was such a pain, Em decided that we would catch the earlier train.. which got us in 30mins before the stores opened.. which really wasn't the best considering how bloody cold it was in there! I guess it serves me right for being in such a hurry.. 

First stop.. after of course walking there from the train station and then back to the train station and then back to the place.. we did have 30mins to kill remember? Anyways.. first stop was Patisserie David, where I enjoyed [twitpic] a banana eclair.. Em had a creme flute & a real chocolate hot chocolate.. I also had a couple of sips of that.. I wasn't overly interested in having much to drink myself.. I was there for the baked goods! We also grabbed a couple of bags of macarons to go as well.. one for us and one for the parentals. We are still yet to eat those.. maybe tonight?

With our belleh's full of cream goodness we headed off to the shops and also to run into one of Emma's mates who happened to be about. Em being the blind as a bat gal that she is.. needed to have me point him out as we walked past him for the 3rd time in the space of like an hour! It was highly amusing! The most amusing part of the whole day out actually.. oh and maybe seeing an old dude with a NZ cap on.. that was just pure cool! It wasn't a completely horrible day as such but I didn't manage to find anything to buy.. not even a new whisk. That is how bad it was... but then maybe I am just too picky about the whisk I want?

At least I managed to pick up a can of this gold!

Once we got home.. we chucked the pies & pasties in the oven, gobbled them up with a beer before heading around for a lovely walk with the little bastard that is Nemo.. to the parentals to drop off the macarons.. Nemo was not impressed with it was time to leave.. as per usual.

Sunday was pretty meh but we at least watched Despicable Me! "It's So Fluffy!" 

The minions in that movie are awesome.. and I want them for myself.. its a shame I couldn't buy one of those on Saturday! My day would have been totally complete! Right?

Baaaaannnnnaaaaannnnnaaaaaa!

Meh.

About 2 weeks ago.. there was a glimmer of hope that things were warming up. After over a week of very low plus temps.. but plus temps all the same, I decided that it was time to retire my thermals for the winter.. and so I packed them up and put them away until they would be needed again.. which apparently was much sooner than I originally thought. Now it is at the point where I have caved in coz it is just too bloody cold again.. so this morning I pulled out the thermals to help keep me warm from this blasted chill. So over winter.. I'm glad the snow is all gone.. and the sun comes out and is glorious.. but can't we just have some warmer weather.. I would be happy with the low plus temps again.. I just want to be out of the freaken minus. It's a downer. And even worse.. I think I'm getting sickly. Ickly. Yes pity me.

The weekend was glorious outside.. but f-f-f-freezing! I was cranky.

Windy Weather!

O my lordy!

What a windy night and now and windy morning.. here in this little town I call home. At times it actually sounds like my balcony is going to even get blown away! The rattle of the bars is a little unnerving.

During the night I heard things smashing.. bins tipped over and being dragged along the ground by the wind.. I know I know its nothing compared to the cyclone that hit QLD but I wasn't there.. I am here and I am gonna talk about my weather! The terrible winds caused a very restless evening.
I actually feel like I have not slept at all.

This morning on the walk.. we are walking along, I see an old man walking his bike instead of riding it and I thought to myself.. "dude, I wouldn't have even taken it out this morning!" Nem's and I continued walking into the wind.. which is quite the killer on ones face and eyes.. I look down at Nem's and his big long ears are all pushed back in the wind and I'm sure its not the most pleasant for him.. but we have to solider on! It is after all his potty walk. As we head up to the church.. which is usually the windiest part of all.. we quickly discover that it really is the windiest part of all.. and Nemo actually gets lifted off the ground by the wind and it stops me dead in my tracks! Which is a mean feat coz let's face it.. I ain't little! I was mighty glad to make it home in one piece.. unmarked by anything flying around, altho I did get hit in the leg by a piece of cardboard. Such mad wind. I hope it dies down by lunch time.

Ok.. I think I need to go down an espresso

It's that time of year when venturing outside is utterly disgusting.

It's warming up.. this past week we have averaged an awesome +3! wooop!

The snow is melting.. which is filthy and as it melts you really discover how grotty some dog owners really are. The cover my dog's poop up with snow instead of picking it up and binning it owners have been out in full force. Walking Nemo is like walking in a mine field trying to dodge all the freaken poop. It. Drives. Me. Nuts.

It is also filthy coz of all the sand & pebbles that they have put down over the icy times.. which they never really did a very good job of when it was really needed. 

Can't it be nicer weather already? I mean come on.. winter has gone on long enough! I'm sure I said that like one day into winter hahaha

I just wanna go on holiday already! We are so close, yet still so far away from actually going. We did a practice pack the other day.. just to see what our packs would likely weigh.. I'm such a light traveller.. mine was 7.5kg but there were still a few bobs and bits to add but nothing serious/heavy.. Emma on the other hand, her pack is huge! and on her little frame it looks even bigger lol However she does have the kitchen sink in hers.. ok maybe not the sink but the kitchen stuffs.. including the awesomely awesome mugs! (what mugs?! you say.. these mugs! Click me.. go on ya know you wanna!) I can't wait to drink all sorts of stuff out of them! I kinda wish we could engrave them.
