Is Something Burning?

Mid way through June and the weather has continued to be brilliant! It's definitely turning into a cracker summer! Love it! There of course has been some pretty sad looking weather but it was still warm and not horrible as such.. and midsummer on Friday is.. of course, threatening to rain. Midsummer in Sweden isn't midsummer without a little downpour.

We have started on the strawberry goodness now that they are for sale and even had our first strawberry off our plant last week.. and yesterday we had our first wild strawberries off our plant! Deliciousness!
Wild Strawberry plant!
YumYums!

Speaking of deliciousness and strawberries.. this was dinner last night.. [photo]

The ice cream wagon has been spotted in town.. however it was not there yesterday and it was a hot one. Go figure?! And just like every year, it doesn't seem to matter what order we make our order in, my ice cream always comes out last and is always less. Every damn time! Luckily, its a large ice cream [photo] to start with so I don't really care but it is still rather amusing.

On the weekend we went to a Cairn Terrier puppy show, little Hjulle competed.. it was a farce. However, we did get to see some really nice doggies and grab a few snaps of the little fella looking.. well.. sad! [photo] angry! [photo].. ok he wasn't angry, he just really wanted the stick we were playing with and pushed his little snout out as much as he could! ...& happy! [photo] Of course, here's a photo of us.. we make a cute couple, right?! [photo]

While at the puppy show, I got a touch burnt. Yep, silly burn strikes again. Here are the glorious photos for your amusement..
It looks bad, but several days on, I am back to normal and it didn't hurt. Or well.. my arm hurt some on the Sunday but that was it.. and now I have 3 shades of white on my arm.. coz that's how all the cool kids roll!

Wait... What?!

It's June already?!

I can't quite believe it, I also can't quite believe the insanely awesome weather we have been having. We had the mildest of mild winters, I wondered if I had been transported to another alternative Sweden and now we are having a fantastic summer. Emma was just saying yesterday that it feels like it is July already, by how the weather feels and it is still a-whole-nother month until July comes and we start to feel sad that the summer will soon be over. I am even starting to get a bit of colour on my skin.. by colour I mean a touch of redness on my bright white skin.. I might just have to start wearing some singlets to get a bit more of an even redness instead of the white line look where my tops stop. I know it is all the rage but I am not into trends. haha

There isn't much to say about the month of May, we had some really great weather. We've drunk some really great beer. Coffee too. We have enjoyed some awesome walks down at the swamp and looking at the new life growing. Just yesterday we saw some new baby swans. Adorable! Life is pretty good and relaxed right about now and we are looking forward to enjoying the summer with beer, coffee and strawberries.. and of course ice cream. Which reminds me, last month I made a caramel beer ice cream.. which wasn't nearly as beer-y as I would have liked but it was tasty enough. I would like to try making just a beer ice cream, instead of mixing it with some other flavour. It might be revolting but it might not.. anyway, I would like to give it a go.. at some point I probably will.. I feel like we are neglecting our ice cream machine a little so it might be time to bust out some ice cold treats.

Speaking of treats and with a can of pumpkin in need of using I did what any sane person would do and got my bake on, in the form of Chocokin.
Damn good cake that one.
